Golf Tournament 2009: Thanks from the Golf Tournament Committee!

A thanks from Doug Foster and the Golf Tournament Committe Team:

We had a lot of fun at this year’s event! We want to thank all the players, sponsors and volunteers!

The Winners were!

• Best Corporate Representation Award – Heath Tecna for their flying golf cart!
• Competitive Team –  The Denson & Myiow Team blew everybody away with a 49 in best ball play. Amazing! ($400 thanks to Dawson Construction)
• Recreational Team – The Gossamites (Dickersons, Goss and Brown) squeaked  out a win with a 63 in scramble play. (4 Bobs Barkley Gift certificates)
• Ladies Team –  Chicago Title #1 (Sandy Weaver, Lana George, Stephanie Tobkin and Maureen Christman took it all with a 71 in scramble play.  (They are heading to Scotty Browns for great food with $100 each in gift certificates)
• Jim Chambers won the Porsche weekend his KP at 10 feet 3 inches.  Thanks to Roger jobs for doubling the prize and giving away a 2^nd weekend!
• Other winners included Byron Sprague for long drive (Thanks to Tiffany at Peoples Bank), Biff Dickerson won the Abby Home and Land Golf Bag, Bonnie Larson won ladies long drive (Thanks to Anthony’s). Mandy Goodman picked up a long drive too and enjoyed dinner at Hearthfire.

The Real Winner was Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County (DVSAS) where you raised $11,000!  That is almost 3 times the results from last year.  In this economy we couldn’t be more proud or thankful to our sponsors and players!

Great Moments!

• John Moullen winning the cruise and cash and donating $500 on the spot back to DVSAS. Now that’s class!
• James Pelmore and Mike Hays dueled to a tie in the putting contest holing a 60 foot sandy putt.  Mike won the play off and took the long shot for $5,000.00 narrowly missing the $5,000 prize (donated by The Foster’s at Muljat)
• Sharon Yonally at Golf Savings Bank provided a great morning buffet and feast that kept us fueled throughout the day.
• An early arriving player walked up to the reception and bought $500 in raffle tickets. WOW!
• Debra Cook of Security First Mortgage, raising $600 at number 12 for the Porsche contest and offering her patented refreshmentsall day to stave the heart and exhaustion.  Also thanks to deb for her generous $1000.00 check.

What’s coming next year!  We’ll keep you posted but expect the same great weather and expect some big surprises.  Also expect more great prizes and more fun!
