Washington State Rape Laws

Both federal and state laws define sexual assault and rape. Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County (DVSAS) offers sexual assault legal advocacy and can assist in understanding your legal options. Keep in mind that the law may define sexual assault differently than DVSAS. DVSAS defines sexual assault as any unwanted sexual contact, regardless of how it fits in the law.
