Lighthouse Mission and Agape Women and Children's Home: Lighthouse mission is a faith-based organization that is dedicated to help and minister to the needy of Bellingham. It operates 3 homeless shelters; 3 daily community meals; a long-term rehabilitation program for men; a transitional housing program for men; a medical clinic; and gives away food, furniture, personal need items and clothing free of charge as available.  It also hosts Christ-centered 12-Step meetings.  www.thelighthousemission.org

Lydia Place: Lydia place is a community-based organization that supports homeless women and their children. It provides safe six-month transitional housing plus twelve- month follow-up programs, individual goal setting and case management, education and employment support/advocacy, and life skills training.  www.lydiaplace.org

Ne-Alis Tokw (My Sister’s Place): Lummi Victims of Crime provides confidential emergency shelter to Native American women and their children.  24-hour domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse and child abuse hotline available.  www.lummi-nsn.org

New Way Ministries: New Way Ministries is a Christian transitional housing program for homeless women and children.  Women must have children to stay at New Way Ministries.  Services include life skills training and case management.  Most woman stay for approx. 6 months.  www.new-way-ministries.org

Opportunity Council-Dorothy Place: Dorothy Place is a secure 21-unit facility in Bellingham that provides support services and transitional housing for single women and women with children who are survivors of domestic violence. A Peace Builders program component teaches children alternatives to violence.  www.oppco.org/services_shelter.html

Womencare Shelter: Womencare shelter is a nonprofit organization that provides safe and confidential emergency shelter support for women and their children who are victims of domestic abuse. Womencare shelter also provides a 24-hour domestic violence helpline, individual or group counseling, and legal, medical, and financial referrals for abuse victims. www.womencareshelter.org/

YWCA Bellingham:  The YWCA has a variety of programs, including a housing for up to 36 women.  They also provide case management, life skills classes, the on-site Back to Work boutique, a Financial Fitness program, and a scholarship program college classes, job training, and career alternatives.  www.ywca.org
