IRA Distribution
If you are 72 or older, you can elect to transfer up to $100,000 a year out of your IRA to DVSAS. This donation may have tax advantages. Please check with your tax professional for details.
The transfer must be made directly to DVSAS from your IRA custodian. The amount transferred counts towards your required minimum distribution.
To make the transfer, contact your IRA custodian and tell them you would like to make a "Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)" to:
DVSAS
1407 Commercial St.
Bellingham, WA 98225
Tax Id: 91-1066325
Bequests
A simple way to support DVSAS and leave a legacy of hope is through a bequest in your will or living trust.
Bequests to DVSAS can be expressed as a dollar amount, a percentage, or all or a portion of your estate.
If you are ready to include DVSAS in your will, consult with your estate attorney. You can also use this sample language: "I give, devise, and bequeath to DVSAS, 1407 Commercial St, Bellingham, WA 98225, which has a federal tax id number of 91-1066325, the sum of $_____ or _____% of my residuary estate (or describe the specific asset to be gifted)."
You can make a bequest to DVSAS by adding a codicil to your will or an amendment to your living trust.
